Mission Statement:

Guided by regional traditions, the Center for Photographic Art promotes excellence in photography through exhibitions, communication, and education.

Brief History:

Established in 1992, the Center is supported by memberships, grants and gifts. Using these resources to fund an ongoing program of exhibitions, workshops and publications, the organization endeavors to promote a better understanding and awareness of many different approaches to the photographic medium. Supported in part by grants from the Cultural Council of Monterey County, The Community Foundation for Monterey County, Freestyle Photographic Supplies, Inc., CPA membership, and the Monterey Peninsula community, we extend our sincere thanks to all of our sponsors.
