About The Work

Photographed early in the morning on July 10, 2000 on Ping Gulch Road in the hills just south of the Snake River in the wheat country of Washington State. A road grader was making threatening noises over the far hill, so a bit of time pressure was experienced while setting up the view camera. This image is included in the George Eastman House and Boston Museum collections.

About the Artist

Over the past 37 years, Don Kirby's photographs have been featured in more than fifty individual and group exhibitions. His photographs are included in the collections of the George Eastman Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, JGS, New York, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Portland Art Museum, and private collections.
