About The Work

Employing a process and methodology more indicative of painting and sculpture, or perhaps even jazz improvisation, Calla Lilies #28, 2004 from Witherill’s series: Photo Synthesis eschews most pre-visualized and representational aspects of conventional photography in favor of a more intuitive, symbolic and painterly approach to the medium.
