Board Member

Rex Naden
Current Term    9/09 thru 9/12

Rex Naden lives in Los Gatos and has been a photographer for 40 years.

Rex spent thirty-five years in the semiconductor industry. He served as Chairman Emeritus at Teknovus, the leader in fiber to the home chip sets, prior to its acquisition by Broadcom in 2010.  Before retiring, he was President, CEO, and Chairman of Teknovus. He guided the company to 25 carrier deployments and 14 system vendor design wins.  Prior to Teknovus, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Silicon Access Networks, where he led the development of the first 20Gb/s layer-four network processor chipset. Prior to this position, he was the marketing executive at Atheros Communications, the world’s leader in 802.11a/b/g radio chip sets. Rex spent 14 years with VLSI Technology and 11 years with Texas Instruments. He holds fourteen US patents and B.A, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.

Rex’s passion is landscape photography.  He is the assistant of well-known landscape photographer Charles Cramer in teaching a class called “Digital Printing for the Fine Art Photographer” at the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley, and in Silicon Valley.  Rex has participated in shows at Filoli Gardens, Courtside Club in Los Gatos, and Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento.  His work is in the permanent collections at Filoli and Courtside Club and at businesses, medical clinics, and private homes.  He is represented by Suzy R. Locke and Associates.
