About The Sea Ranch
Perched on 5,200 acres along ten miles of the Sonoma coast, The Sea Ranch is a private, environmentally sensitive community established in the early 1970s. Noted for its distinctive architecture and commanding views of the Pacific Ocean, the surrounding landscape captivates the imagination with the hushed majesty of its meadows, its towering forests, and rugged shoreline. A ray of sunlight gleaming across the Pacific Ocean; sheep grazing in the meadows; the Knipp-Stengel barn in the afternoon fog; giant redwoods and windswept cypress trees; bluff-top trails skirting the ocean - these are among the indelible images The Sea Ranch places on display. The Sea Ranch beckons from dawn to dusk, promising that journeys deeper into its marvels will reveal even greater photographic splendor.

Driving Directions
The Sea Ranch is located approximately one-hundred-fifteen miles northwest of San Francisco, just south of the coastal village of Gualala. The best way to reach the area is by car, taking Highway 101 north to the Santa Rosa area, going west along the scenic Russian River, and then heading north on State Route 1. Allow three hours driving time from San Francisco. Check Google Maps for other scenic routes.
